The ATSB currently anticipates that its final report from the investigation into the mid-air collision involving EC130 B4 helicopters VH-XKQ and VH-XH9 near Main Beach, Gold Coast, Queensland, on 2 January 2023, will be publicly released in April 2025.

All submissions to the draft report from directly involved parties have now been received. Where new evidence has been provided in the submissions it will be reviewed, and the final report will be updated accordingly prior to publication.

The final report will then be reviewed by ATSB management before being approved by the ATSB Commission for public release.
