The Australian Transport Safety Bureau recommends that the Civil
Aviation Safety Authority consider the introduction of a periodic
Certification Maintenance Review requirement for Australian Class A
aircraft.
The Authority agrees with this Recommendation and notes that
this requirement is incorporated in the new suite of Maintenance
Regulations, anticipated to be introduced in mid-2003.
The ATSB will continue to monitor the implementation of CASA's
proposed safety action.
Based on the previous advice and the ongoing work to change the
regulations the ATSB reclassifies the recommendation as
Closed-Accepted (20 March 2008).
