Technical assistance to the Defence Flight Safety Bureau in support of MRH-90 Taipan helicopter accident, near Hamilton Island, Queensland on 28 July 2023

On 28 July 2023, a Defence MRH-90 Taipan helicopter went missing near Hamilton Island, Queensland.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is providing technical assistance to the Defence Flight Safety Bureau (DFSB) to assist their investigation.

To facilitate this support and to provide the appropriate protections for the information, the ATSB has commenced an investigation under the Australian Transport Safety Investigation Act 2003.
