Accident
The pilot of the Piper Arrow reported that his approach to runway 23 at Coonamble, in a gusting 12 knot crosswind, was high and fast. The aircraft initially touched down on the nosewheel and veered off the runway before he could regain directional control. However, he was unable to prevent the aircraft running into a ditch, resulting in the nose landing gear collapsing, and the propeller striking the ground. The pilot was uninjured in the accident.
