The ATSB is investigating a descent below glideslope involving an Embraer ERJ 190-100 IGW, registered VH-UZI, about 6 km northeast of Brisbane Airport, Queensland, on 9 May 2024. The aircraft was operated by Alliance Airlines as QF1887, scheduled from Cairns to Brisbane, Queensland.

During an ILS approach into Brisbane, the aircraft descended below the glideslope, activating an E/GPWS alert.

The ATSB has commenced the examination and analysis of the initial evidence collected.

To date, the ATSB investigation has included interviewing involved parties, retrieving and reviewing recorded data, and the collection of other relevant information.

A final report will be released at the conclusion of the investigation. Should a critical safety issue be identified during the course of the investigation, the ATSB will immediately notify relevant parties, so that appropriate safety action can be taken.
