In another year of growth in the aviation, rail and marine transport sectors, the ATSB has continued its role as Australia’s national transport safety investigator.
The 2015–16 year was the ATSB’s seventh as a fully independent safety investigator and, despite challenging fiscal circumstances, was able to complete a range of significant and comprehensive investigation reports.
This was in addition to supporting the secondment of a number of specialist staff to the continuing search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 and the reopened investigation into the Norfolk Island ditching accident.
